All questions
Is insurance included in the lesson price?
No, insurance is not included in the lesson price, and ESF does not provide insurance cover for its pupils. We recommend checking your personal insurance coverage and, if necessary, taking out ski insurance so that you can enjoy your stay with complete peace of mind.

For more information, please visit our "Get insured" page.
What clothing should I wear for cross-country skiing?
Cross-country skiing is a very active sport, so you will warm up quickly. We recommend wearing lighter layers, such as lightweight fleeces, to stay comfortable throughout your session.
Quelle différence entre le classique et le skating ?
Cross-country skiing can be practised using two different techniques:
  • Classic Technique: this style is practised on prepared parallel tracks. The movement is similar to walking, with an alternating stride. Natural and easy to learn, it is the ideal technique for beginners, children and anyone new to cross-country skiing.
  • Skating technique: this style is practised on a groomed trail without tracks. The skis form a “V” shape and the movement is similar to ice skating. More dynamic and physically demanding, skating requires greater balance, coordination and technique. It is generally better suited to experienced skiers or those with a good level of fitness.
